DO I HAVE TO BE AN EXPERIENCED RUNNER TO PARTICIPATE?

Nope… However, Mount Trashmore Challenge is designed to challenge yourself and is a fun way to interact with friends and family. You’re free to run, jog, or bike the challenge.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY REGISTRATION?

If you signed-up for the Mount Trashmore Challenge you will receive a Challenge T-shirt, as well as prizes for the 8 milestone reached.

All participants will receive an email about how to register for the web-based application as well as updates for when Mount Trashmore will open for the season.

IS THE MOUNT TRASHMORE CHALLENGE A CHARITY OR A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION?

The Mount Trashmore Challenge was organized by the Czech Village-New Bohemia Main Street District a 501C-3 non-profit organization.

WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE MOUNT TRASHMORE CHALLENGE?

We wanted to take advantage of a great asset located in The District and also create a less stressful, untimed environment that was more about health and happiness with a little competition. We hope that The Mount Trashmore Challenge can act as a catalyst to inspire continual healthy living.

CAN I WALK WITH MY DOG?

Dogs are allowed as long as they are on leash and remain on the trails.

HOW DO I GET MY T-SHIRT AND MILESTONE PRIZES?

The District will be set-up the 3rd Thursday of every month at the NewBo City Market. At this time T-shirts and milestone prizes can be picked up.

ARE THERE REFUNDS?

There are NO refunds for signing up for the Challenge unless for some reason Mount Trashmore will not open for the season.

CAN I TRANSFER MY REGISTRATION TO ANOTHER PERSON?

Registrations are non-transferable to another person. If you can’t attend, we can mail you your participant T-shirt for a small shipping fee.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN MOUNT TRASHMORE IS OPEN?

We strongly encourage you to check Mount Trashmore’s open status before heading out for your hike. The best place to find this information is at https://www.solidwasteagency.org/mount-trashmore.

We also will be putting the open hours for the week in our weekly District Newsletter. If you do not currently receive our newsletter you can sign-up by emailing newsletter to barb@crmainstreet.org.

HOW WILL I TRACK HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE GONE UP MOUNT TRASHMORE?

As a participant you will have access to the web-based application. In order to track your trips you will need to check-in at the base and track your trip at the top of Mount Trashmore for every trip. Do not track your downward decent.

If for some reason you forgot to log a trip please email barb@crmainstreet.org to log your missed trip.

WITH MOUNT TRASHMORE’S LIMITED HOURS WILL I BE ABLE TO GET 140 TRIPS IN?

The goal would be for you to do multiple trips during each visit to Mount Trashmore. Assuming the season is 27 weeks long in order to hit the 140 trips we would encourage participants do 6+ trips per week.
